SEBI is shaking up how companies report what they do with the money they raise, aiming for faster, clearer updates, and less complicated rules.
Chairman Tuhin Kanta Pandey shared the news at a directors' event on Saturday, saying these changes should make things smoother for both companies and investors.
SEBI tightens timelines clarifies related-party rules
Pandey pointed out that "True transparency is not the volume of information. It is the quality, timeliness and usefulness of information."
SEBI is also rolling out stricter timelines for reporting big events and will clarify rules on related-party deals.
Plus, it is working to stop companies from being fined twice by different exchanges for the same mistake, all part of making markets fairer and easier to trust.
