Sensex gains over 300 points, Nifty settles near 25,575 mark
Indian stock markets started the week on a strong note, snapping a three-day losing streak.
Nifty closed up 82 points at 25,574.30, and Sensex gained 319.07 points to finish at 83,535.35.
The boost came mainly from strong buying in IT, metal, and pharma stocks—even though global signals were mixed.
Lenskart makes debut; IT, pharma stocks lead
IT was the top-performing sector with over 1.6% gains, closely followed by pharma stocks, with IT companies like Infosys and Wipro leading the charge.
Meanwhile, more than 180 stocks—including NALCO and Neuland Labs—hit their highest prices in a year after solid earnings.
Plus, eyewear brand Lenskart made its market debut with small gains despite starting out at a discount.
Overall: lots of action across sectors and some fresh energy to start the week!
