Skye Air Mobility raises $9 million to expand drone delivery
Skye Air Mobility, a Delhi NCR-based startup, just secured $9 million in Series B funding led by IAN Alpha Fund, with support from several other investors.
The money will roll out in two parts, $4 million this month and the rest over the next few months, to help them scale up their drone delivery network.
Skye Air Mobility has completed 3.6 million deliveries
Launched by Ankit Kumar, Skye Air Mobility runs a B-to-B drone delivery service with 33 drones.
The company says it has completed 3.6 million deliveries and cut down 1,000 metric tons of CO2 emissions compared to regular couriers.
Their drones can carry up to 10kg (think groceries, retail orders, or medical supplies) and they're planning to expand across Delhi-NCR cities like Noida and Faridabad soon.
India's drone market is set for a major boost
India's drone market was valued at about $940 million in 2024 and is projected to exceed $3 billion by 2030.
The delivery segment is growing even quicker than in China or the US which means big opportunities ahead for startups like Skye Air Mobility looking to make everyday deliveries smarter and greener.
