Tata Digital's big shake-up: new CEO, fewer jobs, and a shift in focus
Tata Digital is hitting reset under its new CEO, Sajith Sivanandan.
The company is considering trimming over half the jobs in its consumer e-commerce arm, which operates Tata Neu, to focus less on rapid expansion and more on actually making money.
Sajith Sivanandan took charge as CEO in September 2024 and aims to make things run smoother.
What's changing behind the scenes
Despite a dip in revenue in FY25 (down 13.8% to ₹32,188 crore), Tata Digital managed to shrink its losses from ₹1,201 crore (FY24) to ₹828 crore (FY25).
Now, Sivanandan is doubling down on financial services, smarter marketing, and building a single loyalty program that taps into the power of the Tata brand.
The company's also working on syncing up digital strategies across group brands like Titan and Tata Motors—and tightening up operations at BigBasket and Croma—to drive sustainable growth.
