Actor-writer Mishra calls alcoholism a deadly disease and reveals dependence
Actor-writer Piyush Mishra just got real about his struggle with alcoholism, calling it a "deadly disease" that often gets ignored.
He opened up about how he became so dependent on alcohol that he needed it to function, shedding light on how addiction can quietly take over someone's life.
Mishra admits regrets, manages cravings
Mishra admitted his drinking led to choices he regrets, like making inappropriate calls while drunk, which hurt both his relationships and career.
A stroke in 2009 made him realize how serious things had gotten.
While he hasn't quit drinking completely, he now manages his cravings through Vipassana meditation.
As Mishra puts it: But I am still an alcoholic—alcoholism never goes away. You can take a daily reprieve... but you can't get rid of it.
Despite the challenges, he continues to work and create in the industry.
