Netflix: News
Netflix is an over-the-top (OTT) media service, which means its content is directly available to viewers via Internet streaming. An extremely popular entertainment medium, Netflix currently clocks in some stunning 183mn paid subscribers. Established in 1997, this California-headquartered media giant spread out their business internationally 13 years later, starting their services in Canada, Latin America and the Caribbean. Apart from the US, Netflix also has offices in Brazil, Netherlands, India, Japan and South Korea. Further, like Amazon Prime, it’s not available in Mainland China, Iran, Syria, North Korea, and Crimea. In 2013, Netflix entered the content-production industry through the gripping political drama House of Cards. And since then, they have donned a rather active role as a producer and distributor of films and TV series.
