An International Emmy Award nominee, Radhika Apte, is an Indian actress who has appeared in Hindi, Tamil, Marathi, Telugu, and English movies. Born in Vellore and brought up in Pune, Apte initially worked with various theater groups to gain experience in acting. Her first appearance in a film was in 'Vaah! Life Ho Toh Aisi!' in 2005, in which she played a small role. In 2009, she acted in the Bengali film 'Antaheen' and Marathi films 'Samaantar' and 'Gho Mala Asla Hawa'. After appearing in 'Rakta Charitra I' (2010), she moved to London to study contemporary dance. Upon returning, she was rejected from many projects because of her body weight. However, the release of 'Shor in the City' in 2011 marked her first mainstream release in Bollywood. Over the years, she gave some of the highest-grossing films in the Marathi industry. Apte received much critical acclaim for 'Badlapur', 'Pad Man', and 'Andhadhun', among others. In 2018, Apte made her OTT debut with the Netflix series 'Lust Stories' (2018). As of 2021, she is filming for her Netflix Original 'Monica, O My Darling'.
