Anoushka Shankar's Grammy journey continues with 11th nomination
Anoushka Shankar just scored her 11th Grammy nomination, this time for Best Global Performance with her track "Daybreak."
She teamed up with cousin Alam Khan and percussionist Sarathy Korwar for the song, which is all about renewal and finding light.
Their album "Chapter III: We Return to Light" also got a nod for Best Global Album.
Full circle moment for the families
This moment feels extra special because it echoes a joint Grammy nomination from 1984, when Anoushka's father, Pandit Ravi Shankar, and Khan's father, Ustad Ali Akbar Khan, were recognized together.
Now the next generation is making their mark—and they're up against legends like Shakti and Zakir Hussain.
Other Indian artists nominated this year
India's presence at the Grammys keeps growing. Sidhant Bhatia made the list with his unique project mixing Kumbh Mela sounds and Vedic chants, while jazz pianist Charu Suri is in the running for Best Contemporary Instrumental Album.
The big night happens February 1, 2026 in Los Angeles—so keep an eye out!
