Box office buzz: 'Dhurandhar 2' beats 'Stree 2's advance booking
Dhurandhar: The Revenge, an upcoming Hindi action thriller directed by Aditya Dhar and starring Ranveer Singh as an undercover RAW agent, is already making waves.
The film has set a new record for advance bookings (by gross collections) in India and has sold about 2.37 lakh premiere tickets.
'Dhurandhar 2' is already a blockbuster in advance sales
Advance bookings reached about ₹19.46 crore (including blocked seats); initial 24-hour advance sales were roughly ₹10 crore, easily beating the previous record held by Stree 2 (about ₹8.50 crore gross, roughly ₹10 crore net).
Globally, Dhurandhar 2 has sold around 2.75 lakh tickets so far, most of them for the Hindi version, which alone brought in over ₹12 crore.
In the US advance/pre-sales were around $618,000 (₹5 crore) from about 38,500 tickets (cumulative).
Film could open in ₹70-85 crore range on Day 1
With paid previews starting March 18, exhibitors are hopeful this film will revive box office numbers that have been slow thanks to Ramadan, exams, and cricket season.
There's buzz that Dhurandhar 2 could open around ₹70-85 crore on its first day—no small feat considering the original grossed roughly ₹890-895 crore domestically and had a larger global total (reported above ₹1,000 crore).
If you're into high-octane thrillers or just love big-screen events with Ranveer Singh in action mode, this one's probably worth checking out!
