Veteran Hollywood actor Brian Cox is set to star in the second season of the popular TV series Dexter: Resurrection. He will play a serial killer known as the New York Ripper, who once terrorized New York City. This character is no longer actively killing but continues to taunt survivors to maintain his notoriety.

The identity of the New York Ripper was revealed in the Season 1 finale when Dexter Morgan (Michael C. Hall) found a folder belonging to villain Leon Prater (Peter Dinklage). The folder had "Don Frampt, New York Ripper," written on it and was one of the clues Dexter collected in a duffel bag to track other killers.
