Big news for Avatar fans: James Cameron's team just confirmed that Avatar 4 and Avatar 5 are in development.
Executive producer Rae Sanchini shared that, after the massive $1.48 million success of Fire and Ash, as far as we're concerned, we're full speed ahead.
The current plan is to release them in 2029 and 2031, but schedules and budgets are still being finalized.
Lightstorm uses new visual tech
Cameron's crew at Lightstorm Entertainment is using new tech to level up the visuals even more this time around.
Meanwhile, Fire and Ash (the longest Avatar film so far) picks up soon after The Way of Water, following the Sully family as they face off against Miles Quaritch again.
If you haven't seen it yet, it's out digitally now, and a physical release drops May 19, 2026.
