Karan Johar is seeking everyone's prayers after his film "Homebound" landed on the Oscars shortlist for Best International Feature Film.
Directed by Neeraj Ghaywan and starring Ishaan Khatter and Vishal Jethwa, the movie has Johar saying, "That's the one film that we seek all your prayers. We've come a long way with Homebound... Whether we make it or not, I seek your prayers. I seek your blessings."

What's 'Homebound' about?

The story follows two childhood friends, Shoaib and Chandan, whose dream of joining the police shapes their lives.
Janhvi Kapoor also plays a key role.
The film dropped on Netflix India on November 21.

Why is this a big deal?

With this shortlist spot, "Homebound" joins classics like "Salaam Bombay," "Lagaan," "Mother India," and "The Last Film Show" as one of the few Indian films to get this far at the Oscars.
Johar thanked his team for helping bring the movie from festivals all the way to this huge moment.
