Bollywood actor Kartik Aaryan recently underwent successful knee surgery after sustaining an injury while filming an action sequence for his upcoming project with director Kabir Khan. The untitled film is a sports drama inspired by the story of kickboxer Tajamul Islam, marking Aaryan's second collaboration with Khan after Chandu Champion.

A spokesperson for Aaryan confirmed the actor's injury and subsequent surgery, stating, "Kartik Aaryan sustained a knee injury while performing an action sequence on the set of his film."

"His surgery was completed successfully, and he is now back home, resting and recovering. He will be back on set soon."

The role is said to be physically demanding, requiring extensive preparation from the actor.

Meanwhile, a few days ago, a source shed light on the injury.

They told India Today, "Kartik was admitted to Fortis Raheja Hospital and is under medical care. The doctors will perform his knee surgery in a day, after which he will have to rest for a few days."

"He should then be able to resume his work commitments."

This isn't the first time Aaryan has faced such an injury; he had previously sustained a knee injury while filming Shehzada.

Despite his recent injury, 2026 has been a landmark year for Aaryan.

He recently bagged the Best Actor in a Leading Role award at the 72nd National Film Awards for his role as India's first Paralympic gold medalist, Murlikant Petkar, in Chandu Champion.

The actor shared this honor with Malayalam superstar Mammootty, who won for Bramayugam.

After recovery, Aaryan will resume shooting Khan's untitled film and complete Anurag Basu's romantic drama opposite Sreeleela.
