Pune child protection official Jadhav asks police review Singh's lyrics
A child protection officer in Pune, Mangesh Jadhav, has asked the police to review Yo Yo Honey Singh's song lyrics, saying they encourage alcohol, drugs, and gun culture, something he worries could influence young fans at concerts.
This move follows a similar complaint to the state's Women and Child Development Department about the negative messages in Singh's music.
Jadhav urges enforcement at Singh concerts
Jadhav wants Honey Singh's performances to stick to child protection rules after an incident at a recent Mumbai concert where Singh allegedly used vulgar language.
He wrote that these lyrics glorify alcohol, drugs and gun culture and urged police to make sure such songs aren't played at public events.
This isn't the first time Singh has faced backlash. His tracks have often been criticized for explicit content and promoting substance abuse.
