R Madhavan begins filming for GD Naidu biopic: Report

What's the story

Acclaimed actor R Madhavan has started shooting for his upcoming biopic on India's revolutionary scientist, GD Naidu. The film's executive producer Muralidhar Subramaniam confirmed to IANS that almost 95% of the movie will be shot at real locations where the events took place. "The remaining 5% will be shot abroad. A small portion of the foreign shoot has already been completed and the remaining portions will be shot as the shooting moves along," he added.

Production details

Indian shoot for Madhavan's biopic to commence on February 18

Subramaniam also revealed that the shooting for the Indian portions of the film will begin on February 18. He added, "That is also when the other details about the film, such as its title, will be disclosed." Per reports, the yet-to-be-titled biopic will be co-produced by Varghese Moolan and Vijay Moolan of Varghese Moolan Pictures, and Madhavan and Saritha Madhavan of Tricolour Films.

Subramaniam also emphasized the amount of research the director and his team did to get Naidu's life right. He said, "The director and his team have spent over 5 years researching GD Naidu." Directed by Krishnakumar Ramakumar and with cinematography by Aravind Kamalanathan, this detailed preparation shows the dedication to staying true to the biopic of Naidu, the "Edison of India" and the "Wealth Creator of Coimbatore."
