The fame of South entertainment industry and recipient of several Tamil Nadu State Film Awards, Ranganathan Madhavan is an actor, writer, director, and film producer working predominantly in Tamil and Hindi cinema. After completing his schooling, Madhavan got involved with the NCC and even got the opportunity to train with the British Army, Royal Navy, and Royal Air Force in England as an NCC cadet. Later he moved to Mumbai, and in the early 1990s, decided to submit his portfolio to a modeling agency. Madhavan worked on an advertisement for sandalwood talc in 1996, followed by lead roles next year in Zee TV's 'Banegi Apni Baat' and 'Ghar Jamai'. In 1997, Madhavan was seen in his first English film 'Inferno'. The following year, he made a debut in the Kannada industry with 'Shanti Shanti Shanti' and in the Tamil industry with the 2000 movie 'Alaipayuthey'. After appearing in numerous Tamil and Kannada movies, he got his first lead role in a Hindi film in 2001 with 'Rehna Hai Tere Dil Mein'. '3 Idiots', 'Tanu Weds Manu', and 'Tanu Weds Manu Returns' are three of his movies that are among the highest-grossing films in Bollywood. Madhavan has won multiple accolades, including four Filmfare Awards South and one ITFA Award.
