The San Sebastian Film Festival has announced its official lineup, featuring David Ayer's Heart of the Beast. The film, starring Brad Pitt as a Special Forces officer, will be screened out of competition with both Ayer and Pitt in attendance. This marks Pitt's first appearance at the festival since 2009, when he presented Inglourious Basterds with Quentin Tarantino.

Film synopsis

About 'Heart of the Beast'

Heart of the Beast from Paramount features Pitt as a Special Forces officer who must survive in the Alaskan wilderness with his retired combat dog after a plane crash.

The film is a reunion for Pitt and Ayer after their 2014 WWII drama Fury.

Cameron Alexander wrote the screenplay while Olivia Hamilton, Marty Bowen, Ayer, and Pitt served as producers.

Festival premiere

Film to be released on September 25

Heart of the Beast will screen out of competition at the San Sebastian Film Festival, scheduled from September 18 to 26.

The film is set to be released by Paramount on September 25.

It joins other high-profile additions such as Mike Leigh's Tender Loving Care and Pablo Larrain's My Sad Dead, which are also part of this year's festival lineup.
