Tamil Nadu is launching a new AVGC policy
Tamil Nadu is about to roll out its new policy for Animation, Visual Effects, Gaming, and Comics (AVGC) Extended Reality.
Announced by IT Minister Palanivel Thiaga Rajan at the India Game Developer Conference, the plan aims to boost young talent and make it easier for creative businesses to grow—think better education, more support, and financial perks.
What else to expect from the new policy
The policy will set up a special help cell at Tamil Nadu's Electronics Corporation and launch a B2B marketplace for creators.
Inspired by global leaders like France's Pixel Players, the state also hopes to bring big gaming names like Krafton and Nintendo to Chennai.
After lots of industry input, expect updated university courses and a new center of excellence in Chennai once final approvals are in place.
