10 Maoists with ₹2.36cr bounty surrender in MP
India
Ten Maoists—four of them women—surrendered to Madhya Pradesh Chief Minister Mohan Yadav in Balaghat on Sunday.
The group, led by Surendar alias Kabir (who had a ₹77 lakh bounty), was armed and carried a combined reward of ₹2.36 crore on their heads.
They'd been involved in armed rebellion across Madhya Pradesh, Maharashtra, and Chhattisgarh.
How the surrender happened—and what's next
The Maoists reached out for help through a forest guard before formally surrendering at the Balaghat Police Line, where top officials welcomed them.
As a gesture of new beginnings, CM Yadav handed them copies of the Constitution to mark their return to society.
The state has promised a 15-year rehabilitation package and plans to ramp up anti-Naxal efforts from January.
