15,000 Indians back home from West Asia so far
India just welcomed 7,205 people from West Asia on Thursday (March 5, 2026) alone, with a total of nearly 15,000 arrivals since tensions spiked after a U.S.-Israel strike on February 28.
The Ministry of Civil Aviation is keeping a close eye on things to make sure everyone gets home safely.
What's being done to help
To keep things running, the ministry has lined up 51 flights for Friday (March 6, 2026), subject to operational feasibility and prevailing conditions.
There is also a Passenger Assistance Control Room working around the clock, already helping over 1,400 travelers through AirSewa and other channels.
With hundreds of domestic flights canceled due to the crisis, officials are teaming up with airlines to keep fares steady and reduce travel headaches for everyone.
