Abhijeet Dipke's CJP protest draws tight security at Jantar Mantar
The Cockroach Janta Party (CJP), started by Abhijeet Dipke, will hold its second big protest at Jantar Mantar this Saturday, drawing supporters from Delhi and nearby states.
Security was tight: police put up barricades, checked vehicles at city borders, and deployed reserve forces after Dipke was attacked during a rally in Jaipur on June 15.
Police to use 270 body cameras
To keep things running smoothly, authorities set up CCTV cameras in and around the protest venue and around 270 body cameras will be used by police personnel deployed at the site, along with police videographers.
Senior officers were on site, with backup forces ready just in case.
Traffic diversions have been planned in parts of central Delhi depending on the size of the gathering, and even the airport and railway stations were on alert.
It's wild to think CJP started as a joke online but has now become an organized protest platform with a growing crowd of supporters.
