Agra woman detained for child prostitution
India
In Agra, a 9-year-old girl escaped and told police that the woman who claimed to have adopted her actually bought her for ₹60,000 and forced her into prostitution for two years.
The girl also shared that she was physically abused during this time.
The accused had no legal adoption papers.
Accused got child through affidavit
Police have filed an FIR under the POCSO Act, Immoral Traffic (Prevention) Act, and sections related to rape. Three men connected to the abuse are also facing charges.
The woman admitted she got the child through an affidavit and used her for sex work by inviting men home.
Investigators suspect a larger trafficking network may be involved and are working to find others linked to the case.
