Air India Express flight diverted due to technical glitch
An Air India Express flight from Delhi to Ranchi had to turn around soon after takeoff on Monday because of a suspected technical issue.
The Boeing 737 MAX 8, which was supposed to land in Ranchi by evening, returned safely to Delhi.
Plane allowed back into service after inspection
After a full inspection and official clearance, the plane was allowed back into service, according to an airline spokesperson.
With recent safety concerns—including a serious crash in Ahmedabad—these incidents may be putting Air India's maintenance and safety protocols under the spotlight for travelers and regulators alike.
Another Air India flight to Delhi had similar issue
Earlier that same day, an Air India Dreamliner flying from Hong Kong to Delhi also had to return mid-flight due to another technical snag.
That plane landed safely and is being checked out.
All this may add pressure on the airline to step up its game when it comes to keeping flights safe and reliable.
