Andhra Pradesh: 31 Naxalites, including CPI (Maoist) chief's security personnel, arrested

India

Big news from Andhra Pradesh—police just arrested 31 Naxalites, and among them were nine people who protected the Central Committee leader Devji.
This crackdown happened soon after top Maoist commander Madvi Hidma was killed in an encounter.
Raids took place across several districts, and six more people were picked up for allegedly turning a house into a shelter zone where they organized secret activities.

Major arms haul and links to other states

During these operations, the anti-terror squad OCTOPUS found a stash of weapons like AK-47s and detonators.
According to Additional DGP Mahesh Chandra Ladda, those arrested had ties with Maoists in Chhattisgarh and had been under watch for weeks.
Security forces see this as a big step in weakening Maoist influence in the region.
