Authorities impose GRAP-III across Delhi-NCR as Delhi AQI reaches 525
Delhi's air quality has plunged to a hazardous AQI of 525 just as Diwali approaches.
To fight the severe pollution, authorities have rolled out GRAP-III restrictions across Delhi-NCR, aiming to cut down emissions and protect public health.
Most Delhi-NCR construction paused, vehicle restrictions
Most construction work is paused (except for essentials like metro, railway, hospital, and highway projects that follow green rules),
BS-III petrol and BS-IV diesel four-wheelers are off the roads in Delhi and nearby Gurugram, Faridabad, Ghaziabad and Gautam Buddha Nagar, and older diesel goods vehicles are also on hold to reduce dust.
Stone crushers and mining are also on hold to reduce dust.
For younger kids, schools are switching to hybrid learning up to Class five so they can avoid exposure.
State governments may also allow 50% of staff in public and private offices to work from home to help ease traffic emissions during this tough stretch.
