Ayodhya sets 2 Guinness World Records during Deepotsav 2025
India
Ayodhya just set two new Guinness World Records during Deepotsav 2025—lighting over 2.6 million diyas (oil lamps) and hosting a massive synchronized 'aarti' with 2,128 people.
The records were confirmed by Guinness officials using drones, and UP's Tourism Minister Jaiveer Singh and Principal Secretary Amrit Abhijat presented the Guinness certificate to Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath.
Teamwork makes the dream work
Pulling off this huge celebration took serious teamwork between UP's tourism department, Ayodhya's local administration, and Rammanohar Lohia Avadh University.
Since Yogi Adityanath became Chief Minister in 2017, the festival has grown bigger every year.
According to Singh, Deepotsav is now a symbol of pride—and progress—for both Uttar Pradesh and India.
