Giriraj Singh: News
Giriraj Singh is a Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) politician, Lok Sabha Member of Parliament, and the Minister for Rural Development and Panchayati Raj in the Government of India as of 2021. Singh did his graduation from Magadh University, Bihar. He was elected as a Member of the Bihar Legislative Council in 2002 and became the Cooperative Minister in Nitish Kumar-led Bihar government when the JDU-BJP alliance came to power in 2005. The alliance retained power in the 2010 state assembly elections, and this time, Singh became Minister for Animal Husbandry and Fisheries Resources Development. In 2014, Singh successfully contested the Lok Sabha elections from the Nawada constituency, entering Parliament for the first time. He was Minister of State (MoS) for MSMEs in the first Narendra Modi government from 2014 to 2019.
