India
Big trouble at a Bank of India branch in Firozabad: 96 gold packets, mostly jewelry that customers had given as loan collateral, have disappeared.
The missing gold was discovered during a June 15 inspection after one of the bank officers stopped showing up for work.
Firozabad vault tampered and 3 arrested
Turns out, the vault's dual-key security was tampered with. Three bank officials have been arrested so far.
Police think Credit Officer Dilip Kumar may have used the stolen gold to get loans elsewhere and possibly had a habit of online betting and gaming.
The investigation is still on, and people are seriously questioning how safe their valuables really are in banks right now.
