Banned PLA claims 1st drone attack on Assam Rifles
India
A banned insurgent group called the People's Liberation Army (PLA), based in Myanmar, has claimed a drone attack on Indian forces.
In the early hours of November 28, they targeted a 3rd Assam Rifles outpost near the Manipur-Myanmar border, sharing a video later to show off the attack.
What happened and what's next
The PLA's video showed drones dropping an explosive, injuring four soldiers with shrapnel.
Thankfully, all four were airlifted out and are now stable with minor injuries.
Afterward, Assam Rifles responded to the attack while making sure local civilians stayed safe.
Officials have called out the video as propaganda meant to spread fear and try to regain influence in the area.
Security operations are still ongoing.
