Basappa Satannavar allegedly strangled girlfriend Rakshita Sarikar at Gokak Falls

A tragic incident unfolded at Gokak Falls, Karnataka, where Basappa Satannavar, 29, allegedly killed his girlfriend Rakshita Sarikar, 23, while they were discussing their marriage plans.
The conversation turned into an argument, and police say Basappa strangled Rakshita and left her body on a hillside.
SSB constable arrested in Sarikar murder
Rakshita's family grew worried when she didn't return home and filed a missing person report on November 1.
This led police to identify Basappa, who works as a constable in the 21st Battalion of the Sashastra Seema Bal (SSB) in Bihar, as the main suspect.
He was arrested on charges of murdering Rakshita during questioning.
Basappa is now in judicial custody as investigations continue.
