Bengal mother, daughter critical after alleged suicide attempt
India
A 27-year-old woman and her young daughter are in critical condition at a Kolkata hospital after an alleged suicide attempt in Hooghly, West Bengal.
The woman, who had been living with her parents due to marital issues, reportedly feared being deported because she didn't receive a Special Intensive Revision (SIR) form like other family members.
This fear led her to allegedly consume poison with her daughter.
