Bengaluru airport's new taxi rules spark traveler frustration

India

Bengaluru Airport just changed its taxi pick-up system at both terminals, and passengers are not thrilled.
Since December 11 and 13, yellow-board and non-authorized taxis have to park up to a kilometer away from arrivals, making pick-ups a lot less convenient.

Why does this matter?

The new rules mean exit times have jumped from five minutes to around half an hour—especially tough on seniors, people with disabilities, and families hauling luggage.
There's also a buggy shortage, adding to the hassle.
Some travelers say taxis stationed near the terminal are overcharging or offering poor service.
Even though congestion is reportedly down, many feel left out of the loop—and former Infosys CFO Mohandas Pai called out the move for making things harder for business travelers too.
