Bihar CM Nitish Kumar gets World Book of Records honor

India

Bihar's Chief Minister Nitish Kumar just got a shoutout from the World Book of Records, London, for being sworn in as CM for the 10th time—a rare feat in Indian politics.
Janata Dal (United) leader Sanjay Jha described it as a "truly rare distinction" in the country's democratic journey.
Kumar first took office back in 2000 and, except for a brief period from 2014 to 2015, has been leading Bihar ever since.

A political journey full of alliances

Kumar's career is basically a masterclass in alliance-building—he's teamed up with RJD and Congress before, and even switched back to BJP after a brief resignation in 2017.
His flexibility helped him secure his latest term after the NDA's recent win.
With this new recognition, Jha says it's not just an award for Kumar but a historic moment for all of Bihar.
