Bihar: Teacher shot dead in case of mistaken identity

India

A 25-year-old teacher, Shivani Verma, was tragically shot on her way to school in Narpatganj, Bihar.
The attack turned out to be a case of mistaken identity—she was targeted because she rode a similar two-wheeler as the intended victim, who worked at a different school in the same area.
The plot was set in motion by Husn Ara, who wrongly believed her husband was having an affair with another teacher.

Police solve case quickly

Police acted fast and cracked the case within 48 hours using CCTV footage and tech tools.
They arrested the shooters, Mohammad Maroof and Mohammad Sohail, whose confession led them straight to Ara.
The murder weapon and bike were also found, and police are still looking for two more people involved.
