BJP leader and 7 accomplices charged for harassment in Pune
A BJP office-bearer, Omkar Kadam, and seven others have been booked for allegedly stalking and harassing a woman medical officer at Pune Municipal Corporation.
The incidents reportedly happened at her workplace between January and June 2025, with the group accused of making derogatory remarks and recording videos without her consent.
Kadam has denied all allegations
Kadam faces several charges under the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita—including stalking, insulting modesty, wrongful restraint, unlawful assembly, and criminal intimidation.
After the complaint, PMC Commissioner banned Kadam and an aide from civic offices.
The police have recorded the woman's detailed statement.
There's been public outrage over how authorities first handled things; meanwhile, Kadam has denied all allegations, calling them retaliatory.
