Mangal Malviya, the elder brother of Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) MLA Satish Malviya from Ghattiya, Ujjain, has been arrested for questioning over allegedly killing his own son. The incident took place on Monday, February 3, around 9:15am. Mangal reportedly shot his son, Arvind Malviya, after a financial dispute over the family's grocery store.

According to NDTV Hindi, the dispute between Mangal and Arvind was over money transactions at their family's grocery store. At the time of the incident, Arvind had been staying at his in-laws' house instead of with his father. The Additional Superintendent of Police (ASP) Rural, Nitesh Bhargava, confirmed that a licensed 12-bore gun was used in the shooting.
