Bomb threat emails force evacuations at 11 Jalandhar schools

India

On Monday morning, 11 schools in Jalandhar, Punjab got alarming bomb threat emails. The messages warned that the buildings would be blown up, so students and staff were quickly evacuated.
Schools like St Joseph's Convent, IVY World School, and Sanskriti KMV were among those affected.

Police response: searches clear, investigation ongoing

Police rushed in with bomb disposal teams and searched all the schools—thankfully, nothing dangerous was found. As a safety step, all affected schools closed early for the day.
Cyber police are now tracking down where the emails came from.
This scare comes just days after similar hoax threats in Amritsar, with officials noting the emails were in the same format as those earlier threats.
