Jaishankar Meets European, UK, Egypt Ministers at UAE forum

External Affairs Minister S Jaishankar held a series of bilateral meetings with his counterparts from Europe, the United Kingdom, and Egypt during the Sir Bani Yas Forum in Abu Dhabi on Saturday. The forum, which concluded on Sunday, is an annual high-level platform for global leaders to discuss major geopolitical and security challenges. Jaishankar met Luxembourg's Prime Minister Luc Frieden along with other ministers of his government, Poland's Foreign Minister Radosław Sikorski, and Latvia's Foreign Minister Baiba Braze.

In a social media post, Jaishankar wrote, "Great to be with European colleagues DPM & FM Xavier Bettel of Luxembourg, DPM & FM Radoslaw Sikorski of Poland and FM Baiba Braze of Latvia." He also met UK Shadow Foreign Secretary David Lammy at the forum. "Good to see UK Shadow Foreign Secretary @DavidLammy on the sidelines of Sir Bani Yas Forum 2025," he wrote in another post.

Jaishankar also met Egypt's Foreign Minister Dr Badr Abdelatty during the forum. He described their interaction as "nice to catch up" in a social media post. The Sir Bani Yas Forum is an annual event that brings together global leaders, ministers and experts to deliberate on regional and international issues. This year's forum focused on peace, security and economic cooperation.

According to PTI, the event is one of the most important international strategic dialogue events.
