Vokswagen is a German automaker under the Volkswagen Group, with its headquarters based in Wolfsburg. It was founded in 1937 by the German Labour Front, an organization under the Nazi party led by Adolf Hitler in Berlin. Volkswagen, which can be translated to “people’s car” was a project aimed at producing an affordable vehicle which could fit two adults and three children. The iconic Beetle was one of the carmaker’s first designed cars in collaboration with Porsche, followed by Golf, Scirocco, and Polo. Over the years, the company has also been a part of many controversies, including the Dieselgate scandal. Currently in India, its portfolio entails a range of SUVs like Tiguan and T-Roc, hatchbacks like Polo and Polo GT, and sedans like the Vento and Passat.
