Toyota is a Japanese multinational automobile manufacturer with its headquarters based in Toyota City, Japan. It comes under the Toyota Motors Corporation alongside Lexus, Hino, Ranz, and Daihatsu brands. It produced its first vehicles, the A1 passenger car and the G1 truck in 1935 under Kiichiro Toyoda, founder Sakichi Toyoda’s son. It was later incorporated as an independent company in 1937. At present, it is one of the world’s largest companies in hybrid automobile sales and reportedly the first to produce a hybrid electric car, called the Toyota Prius, in 1997. Its current Indian portfolio includes SUVs like Urban Cruiser, Fortuner, Yaris, Glanza, MPV like Innova Crysta, and hybrids like Vellfire and Camry.
