BPSC faces backlash over stenographer exam question on Giriraj Singh
The Bihar Public Service Commission (BPSC) is under fire after its stenographer exam included a question asking who posted a certain message on X (formerly Twitter) in March 2026 (the answer being Union minister Giriraj Singh).
Many, especially opposition leaders, are calling out the commission for including such a political and seemingly irrelevant question in a state-level recruitment test.
BPSC bars setter, admits screening slip-up
Reacting to the uproar, BPSC's secretary said the person who set the question has been barred from setting questions for us in the future and will not be paid.
He admitted there was a slip-up in screening and promised stricter checks next time.
Leaders from JD(U), RJD, and Congress have all criticized BPSC's move, saying there has to be a mechanism to filter out such questions (1,113 candidates appeared for the examination against nine vacancies).
