CBI arrests 3 doctors in medical college inspection bribery case
Three doctors have been arrested by the CBI for allegedly accepting a ₹55 lakh bribe to give a medical college in Chhattisgarh a positive inspection report.
The case centers around Shri Rawatpura Sarkar Institute of Medical Sciences and Research, with investigators uncovering links between institute officials, inspecting doctors, and middlemen working together to influence outcomes.
How the scam worked
The CBI didn't stop at just the doctors—they searched over 40 locations across multiple states and picked up three more people who were allegedly part of the bribery deal.
All six accused are set to appear in court soon.
The agency says this group used different tricks to sway inspection reports for several medical colleges, raising bigger questions about how these inspections are run.
Institute has been in trouble before
This isn't the first controversy for Shri Rawatpura Sarkar Institute.
In the past, it's been accused of using fake fingerprints for faculty attendance, hiring staff just during inspections, and even bringing in dummy patients to look compliant when authorities visited.
