Chhattisgarh's Mahatari Vandan Yojana, launched in 2024 to give ₹1,000 per month to women aged 21 and above, is facing a noticeable dip in reach.
As of October 2024, about 64.94 lakh women have received payments—nearly five lakh short of the initial number of beneficiaries.

The Congress party says thousands of names were unfairly dropped, calling it a letdown for women voters.
The government, though, says it's just routine checks—removing names due to reasons like deaths, voluntary opt-outs, or incomplete bank details.
Still, many women report delays and confusion over payments.
Critics want more transparency and faster fixes so eligible women aren't left waiting.
