A 19-year-old NEET aspirant in Coimbatore, Anu Keerthana, died by suicide just days before her rescheduled exam.
She had only scored enough for a dental seat in the 2025 NEET-UG and was hoping to do better in the 2026 retest, which was canceled by the National Testing Agency (NTA) following allegations of a paper leak.
The uncertainty and pressure around the exam weighed heavily on her.
