Consumer Commission orders refund after Arihant Helicopter service delayed wedding
The wedding took a stressful turn when Arihant Helicopter Service showed up over four hours late, even though the chopper was supposed to land at 10:00am.
The delay messed up the wedding procession and pushed back the phera ceremony, leaving the groom's family embarrassed.
The Consumer Commission stepped in and ordered a refund of ₹6.77 lakh with 9% interest, ₹1 lakh compensation, and ₹22,000 litigation costs.
Karnal Commission orders Arihant 6.77L refund
The commission ordered Arihant to refund ₹6.77 lakh (plus 9% interest), pay ₹1 lakh as compensation, and cover ₹22,000 in legal costs.
The company blamed bad weather but couldn't prove it, so their excuse didn't fly.
As the Karnal Consumer Commission put it, "In such a contract, time is the essence of the agreement, and any substantial delay defeats the very purpose of obtaining the services."
