Cooking gas subsidies paused after June 30 for incomplete BAA
Heads up, if you use cooking gas and haven't finished your biometric Aadhaar authentication (BAA), your subsidies will be paused after June 30, 2026. This includes folks on the Ujjwala scheme too.
The pause affects all Direct Benefit Transfer (DBTL-PAHAL) and targeted subsidy schemes until you complete BAA.
Miss the deadline but finish it later? You'll get future subsidies, but won't get back what you missed during the gap.
Oil firms to notify LPG consumers
Oil companies like Indian Oil, BPCL, and HPCL will notify consumers who have never undertaken the process since obtaining the LPG connections.
The government says your gas supply won't stop if you miss BAA, though in Telangana there could be some delays if you're not done yet.
For context, Telangana caps LPG refill prices at ₹500 for eligible households, but without subsidy an LPG refill in Hyderabad now costs ₹994 after a recent hike, so that BAA really matters!
