Cyclone Montha intensifies over Bay of Bengal, red alert issued

Heads up, Andhra Pradesh—IMD has issued a red alert as Cyclone Montha is intensifying over the Bay of Bengal and could hit near Kakinada between Machilipatnam and Kalingapatnam by October 28.
Expect strong winds up to 110km/h and heavy rain, with some areas likely seeing more than 100mm.

The cyclone could bring serious flooding, especially in Rayalaseema where over 200mm of rain may fall in just one day.
