Dalit groom's procession halted in Etah, resolved peacefully

A Dalit groom's wedding procession in Dhakpura village, Etah, Uttar Pradesh, was attacked on Saturday evening after some Thakur community members objected to the route.
Stones were thrown at the group, and a police constable was injured while trying to calm things down.

TL;DR

Police had to intervene

Police quickly took control of the situation, with senior officers staying at the venue until all rituals finished.
The groom's family thanked them for their support, saying the wedding wouldn't have happened without their help.
The incident is a reminder that caste tensions still exist in some parts of India despite laws against discrimination.
