In a major drug bust, Delhi Police arrested two people, including a woman, in the Gulabi Bagh area of North Delhi on Monday. The accused have been identified as 55-year-old auto-rickshaw driver Chandan Gupta and 34-year-old Sonia, according to PTI. They were nabbed while transporting 1.58kg of high-quality heroin worth around ₹5 crore in the international market. The police said the duo was headed toward the Trans-Yamuna area to deliver the drugs when they were arrested.

Additional Deputy Commissioner of Police (North) Sumit Jha confirmed this during a press conference. He said, "A total of 1.58kg of fine quality heroin worth around ₹5 crore in the international market was recovered from their possession." Incidentally, Sonia's husband was also arrested in 2024 under the Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances Act.
