Delhi college accountant loses ₹80L to WhatsApp boss fraud
A Delhi college accountant lost ₹80 lakh after falling for a boss fraud, where scammers pretended to be a senior official on WhatsApp and asked for money transfers.
Thanks to quick work by the cybercrime team, police froze the stolen funds and caught the main suspect, Naushad, all within two days.
Suspect Naushad arrested in Ghaziabad
The scam was first reported on October 27, 2026, when the society's General Secretary, Abhishek Jain, from Rishi Aurobindo Educational Society filed an online complaint.
Investigators traced the money to an account called N.S. Traders and secured a lien on it fast.
Naushad was arrested in Ghaziabad soon after and admitted others were involved too.
Cases like this are a good reminder: always double-check before sending money, even if the message seems to come from your boss.
